In the first six months of 2008, the congressional candidate showered with
the most donations from registered federal lobbyists was Virginia Senate
candidate Mark Warner, an exhaustive analysis of more than 107,000 records
released by the Senate Office of Public Records shows.

Lobbyists disclosed personally giving Warner, the former Virginia governor who will be the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, $206,000, outstripping the K Street receipts of incumbents up for reelection like Sen.
