Watch Bunning Block the Bill

Don't forget to keep calling your Senators and ask if they registered an objection to S.223. Use this comment form to let us know what you find or leave them in the comment thread. Meanwhile, why don't you watch Sens. Feinstein and Feingold denounce the last week's objection right before Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) registers yet another anonymous objection.

when I called them, they said the anonymous name would be released when Sen. Reid scheduled the bill to the floor.

But I went to Wikipedia to get some quick details on the origins of secret holds overall (really just other links to more reliable sources), but came across this quote on the page:

"We are down to one hold on our [Senate] side. And I know that cad. We're talking to the secretary of Health and Human Services to try to persuade him. And it isn't a her. It's a him. And it's not a Democrat. Want me to keep going? He's not from the Eastern part of the country. He's not from the Western part of the country."

It says it's from a National Journal article (though a subscription is required), and dated April 25, so just yesterday. Foolish to ask I feel, but has this been taken into account? It seems to remove both Kyl and Gregg, depending on how one defines "western" and "eastern".

Unfortunately it was about a secret hold on the Genetic Nondiscrimination Bill.

Messed up and forgot to finish the link. Here it is: secret holds.
